Air Conditioning Maintenance

Every air conditioner produces water, which usually carried away with a drain system and condensate pump. An air conditioner can appear running normal but if dirty can cause icing or flooding and damage the furnace, blower, evaporator coil, compressor and can short out electrical controls and control board.  It is highly recommended that you have your central air conditioning system cleaned and checked every year. The older the air conditioner, the more important this service is.  The older air conditioners are less efficient and are R-22 freon systems which may not be able to be repaired due to the phase out of freon.  So it is even more important to tune up your old freon air conditioner, not only for efficiency but for longevity due to the R-22 freon phase out.

It is very important to change your furnace filter regularly. A clean filter will help your central air conditioning system run more efficiently and will help keep dust from collecting on the evaporator coil, blower motor and circulating through your home.
